First Sleepover Party

Not her first sleepover, but her first sleepover Par-tay!  A's birthday is in May as you know, but we always save her party for the summer months because well, there are so many more options for parties; pool parties, camp outs, beach outing etc.  And I know this isn't about me, but I like summer better and I have more energy for such occasions in the warmer months.
This year A asked for a sleepover party.

Sure things kiddo!

Here is the best part of the entire experience this year; she did everything herself.  Everything! She created and wrote the invitations (which I stupidly did not take a picture of), picked out the decorations, created the menu, chose the paper goods, and the gift bags.  Everything all on her own and she did a pretty darn good job!

The girls were spectacular!  Perfect to say the least.  They were well behaved, I couldn't have been happier and I know the girls had a super good time.

Right Now

  • right now I am feeling this tremendous guilt for not blogging every day.  why?  i have seen other bloggers do the same.  it's not like i have a huge following and everyone is missing me.  but it just feels wrong
  • right now i am preparing for an all girls sleepover this friday.  5 little girls.  help me rhonda!
  • right now my children are drawing quietly in the other room and i am on pins and needles waiting for the screaming to begin.  will they start screaming soon? how long will it last? should i make those phones calls now before all h.e.l.l. breaks loose???
  • right now it is so hot here you can't even go outside.  i went out this morning to pick a few things up from the grocery store and i couldn't breath.  now i love the hot weather and summer it is my favorite, but when you can't breath there is just something not right about that.
  • right now i am scrapbooking a lot!  working on a halloween album.  will post it here when it's done. i am loving it so far.
  • right now i am also really into reading.
  • right now i also want to knit something.  i haven't really been into knitting lately.  i can't seem to find the right pattern and yarn.
  • right now i am excited about a yoga class i joined that begins tonight!
  • right now i am grateful for this time of slowing down and spending time at home.  less trips in the car, less screen time, less of having to do this and that and go here and there.
what does your right now look like??

Learning to Ride a Bike

Last week C asked us to take his training wheels off.  Hmm, he seems so small and young to ride a two wheeler right?  WRONG!

We took the training wheels off, he got on the bike and rode it straight down the driveway!!!  No holding onto the seat, no running along side for us.

He's fearless!

A too learned the same day.  She is quite proud of herself as are we.  There was a bit more fear in her case as I believe it is because she is older.  Whether it was fear or lack of interest in learning all this time, I can't truly say.  Either way, she can ride now and she has everyday since.

I want a bike now!!!

Still Around

I'm still here but have decided to cut back on blogger for the summer.  I love blogging, I really do.  I find it fun and rewarding but it's also takes time away from the kids.  It's summer and I want to spend as much time with them as I can.  Before we know it they'll be back to school.

We have been playing outside everyday, going to the library, having friends over and doing our errands together.  And yes, much, much less computer time.

I'll still be around once a week or so and maybe we'll do Cookie Friday again for the rest of the summer.  The kids loved this last year and it's a great way to get them cooking.

I hope everyone is having a super fun summer!

Be back here soon, I promise.
