Advent Activities Days 11 - 20

 December 11 - Bake Cookies

December 12 - Candy Cane Hunt

December 13 - A visit from Santa on the Fire Truck
you can read about the towns toy delivery program here

December 14 - Blow ice bubbles
We tried but it wasn't cold enough so we are going to save this one for a very, very, cold night.

December 15 -  Dessert before dinner

December 16 -   Tell each other what you love best about them
(We did this during dinner)

December 17 - "Jingle" a neighbor
( To Jingle a neighbor you must leave goodies on their door step with a poem asking them to continue by jingling another neighbor, sort of like chain mail.)  However, I didn't want to torture anyone or give them a guilt trip, so we just left them some goodies with a card from us.  The kids put the tins of cookies on their front porch steps, rang the bell, and then ran away.  They loved it!!!!  We watched our neighbor come to the door from our window.  It was so fun.  Even I was giddy.

December 18 - Make a bird feeder
We used toilet paper tubes, Sunbutter (sunflower seed butter), and bird seed.

December 19 - Two cookies for dessert!
We were supposed to make Borax Snowflakes but I couldn't find the Borax any where so I let them decided.  Two cookies for dessert.  A unanimous decision.

December 20 - Go for an evening walk
We chickened out on this one. It was just too cold.  Yeah, yeah, we're wimps.
We'll go another night to make up for it.

December 21 - Write a letter to baby Jesus
Because as my friend Jean says, Jesus is the reason for the season.

I'll be back after Christmas with days 22-25.

Until then, have a very Happy Holiday

It's Party Time

C's holiday party was this afternoon.  So stinking cute.  These little human beings just know what to do.    They own that classroom!

Child development is miraculous.

 Ornament making

They made their own Gingerbread Houses.
We put it in the dining room.

Everyone went home with a new book from the grab bag.

A day of merry making for sure.

Why Are Owls So Awesome?

If you can not see the video ( I can see it on the desk top but not on my Mac, not sure why).  Anyway here is the link.  If you still can't see it go to youtube and search for Lovely Owl.  Not sure why I'm having so much trouble with this one?  And all I wanted to do was share the cuteness!

That Little Devil

I came down this morning and was going about my usual business when I looked over at the Tupperware container which holds the chocolate chip cookies we made for our advent activity on Sunday.  I noticed it was not properly sealed.  I thought nothing of it and went over to close it.  We need to keep those cookies fresh you know.

Later on, I was hankering for one of those tasty treats.  I opened the container and lo and behold but what should I find but a cookie with itty, bitty, tiny, bites taken from it.

Hmmmm, now who could have done that??

Could it have been this guy?

He says not.

But alas it was just him and I.

I know it wasn't me..........
