We Went Camping

I love camping.  This may surprise some because I may not seem to most an outdoorsy kind of girl, but I am at heart.  I'm not a rock climbing, mountain biking chick, but I am a chick that loves to be in the middle of a forest.  To hike through the woods, to listen to the river rushing by at night, to see more stars in the sky then I can see from my own backyard.  And there is no noise.  You can't hear traffic or your neighbors mowing their lawns.  You don't hear anything but the leaves rustling from the breeze, the birds, chipmunks scurrying by with their cheeks full of supper, water flowing, and well maybe the feet of a fellow hiker.  This to me is paradise.  I want to share these feeling with my children.  I want them to know what being outdoors means to me and maybe I can, through experience, create or instill the love I feel for nature in them.

This was our first camping trip as a family.

Together we planned and packed for our one night in the woods.  Yes just one night.  C has never camped and is still young so we decided on one night to see how he did.  He did well!  They all did.  Next year we think we may stay for several nights.
